In response to the solo exhibition Waking Up the Bear at Le Clignoteur (Brussels) in 2017, the Frans Masereel Centrum and Le Clignoteur co-published an artist edition of URS – Waking Up the Bear. The book contains a report by Bart Van Dijck, detailing his trip to the Romanian Bacau, where the winter traditions include ‘dancing bears’. The illustrations were made by beggars. The exhibition itself was inspired by nature, heralding the end of winter.
