Hana Miletić – MON 21.11.2022 – 10am

Hana Miletić was born in Zagreb in 1982. She lives and works in Brussels and Zagreb.

Miletić studied art history and archaeology (Vrije Universiteit Brussels, 2005), gender studies (Universiteit Utrecht, 2004) and photography at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam (2006), and completed her graduate study in photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 2009.

Her work reflects on issues of representation and social reproduction, by making linkages between photography and weaving. The artist models her woven textiles after her photographs that document repairs in public space. Miletić uses the weaving process – which requires considerable time and dedication – as a way to counteract certain economic and social conditions at work, such as acceleration, standardisation and transparency.
