Curating the Woodland
In addition to being an artistic interior, the Frans Masereel Centrum is also a place where people reside and meet artists from different backgrounds. A place to spend time together, critically question their own practice and enter into a dialogue with each other.
The unique location of the organisation – the wooded surroundings of Kasterlee – determines the experience for all visitors and residents. The Frans Masereel Centrum thus try to use its entire site, starting from its own identity, to initiate new artistic interventions.
Curating the Woodland is a long-term initiative in which contemporary artists are commissioned to realize an artistic intervention at the Frans Masereel Centrum site. A first project was activated during the summer of 2020; In the coming years, Curating the Woodland will be gradually expanded over time.
