My works are concerned with a question: How to redefine the traditional medium of printmaking today, after it has been gradually replaced by digital print?

My 2 works are focused on express bodily characters of printmaking.
The work “Collaborate with a printer” is a performance. As a printer prints a paper, a printmaker also has a fingerprint on the same paper. This work would like to do comparisons between the human body and the machine.

The other work is ”Try to be a circle”. In this work, I think about how to emphasize the process of printmaking such as print, grind, wipe etc. Besides this, I wanted to do a work that could relate to a residency place. So I wrote a news article to talk about an unusual happening: an Asian printmaker grinding a square copper plate for 9697 min with a file, trying to turning it into a circle. To let a process of printmaking become a meaningful action.
