"The recurring themes in my visual work are the SEA and TYPOGRAPHY. For the SEA, I’m constantly seeking out that ultimate line that could be the horizon. TYPOGRAPHY takes me to construction. I build compositions using letter symbols. For my 2017 residency at FMC, I designed images on computer by sliding letters (which make up words) and numerals across each other to create an outline, which is then cut out in MDF by means of laser cutting. Using the positive and negative image thus produced and toying with image and mirror image, I built new compositions in letterpress, for which I decided to use only the non-colours (black/white/grey). The printing forms themselves I consider to be autonomous images of the work process. Along with the prints, they make up an ensemble, and they will be exhibited as such."
