"'Journal' is a series of prints in consideration of the meaning of life and its conscious experience. I focused on some of life’s content, these important and seemingly frivolous things which mark the rhythm of everyday life. For me the printmaking process is a process of taming emotions and events. It is an attempt to keep memories and images that for some reasons are important to me. The starting point is situations that have occurred in the past and that are happening here and now.
During the residency I gave myself a challenge how to remember particular day, event, situation using just a symbol, picture – one, specific thing which I saw or heard or which inspired me during the day. The whole process taught me how to notice these simple things, small events which are the essence of our lives. At the same time I did a research within the photopolymer gravure technique."
