Maria Blondeel

Maria Blondeel (Halle, °1963)

Maria Blondeel is a Belgian artist based in Ghent. Known for her sound art works, she has developed her own unique visual style, which is characterized as an interdisciplinary, experimental approach to technology, image, light and sound. The abstract, airtight, ambiguous and ambivalent process of generative transmutations that opens up a performance of an unseen scene of image and sound in many of her works have gained her films the reputation to bring their audiences beyond the mental event. In 2012 Maria Blondeel was artist in residence at FMC in order to work on a graphic project in lithography and silkscreen.
