Keeping (under) > loosing > keeping (under) > loosing > keeping (under) Control
That was what happened during my residency at Frans Masereel Centrum, as I went through a period of experimenting with various techniques: such as etching, monotype, chine-collé and masking the etching plates.
By trying to combine all these techniques at once, errors happened and I produced a mess. But then - suddenly things started to fall unexpectedly well together, onto a piece of paper, as a respectable result.
Finding a system through chaotic processes is a quite a common approach and an ongoing topic of my research.
What I found here is a way of developing a grid with thrown lines on top of it. (Thrown lines = inked threads)
There will be a lot of further work to do, such as analyzing and developing a concise system of number and length of the thrown threads at the ratio of the grid and the adjustment of my body while doing the action of throwing the threads.
I guess this residency will influence my future work in a quite an extensive way.
