My artistic work advocates an interdisciplinary perspective and careful theoretical research. With my background as historian and art historian, I am fascinated by the layers of time that leave traces behind in the (collective) memory. The layering of reality and time is not infrequently expressed in the processes I employ. Works are created in multiple sessions, via procedures that are related to the formal principle of DÉCOLL/AGE, and build on the practical theory and theoretical praxis of montage, as developed by Alexander Kluge and Jean Luc Godard.
