WIELS Art Book Fair (Brussels): Saturday September 7, 2019 (3-4 pm)
Frans Masereel Centrum (Kasterlee): Saturday September 14, 2019 (12 am-5 pm)

While preparing their six months-popup at MoMA, opening next month in New York, the Mexico City-based Gato Negro Ediciones is currently staying in Belgium at the Frans Masereel Centrum for a 4 week residency. The context of their residency is part of a three-stage itinerary starting in Belgium, then Rotterdam and New York.

Gato Negro Ediciones has acted as a recognizably-urgent voice in independent publishing across the cultural realm. Advocating the liberty of thought, they intentionally print titles that challenge the so-often sequestered view of contemporary society.

As a way to develop their editorial research exercise called 'Logocide, Logotomy and Logophagy (Creation, experimentation and reflection of the nonsense as a subversion tool)', Gato Negro Ediciones presents at WIELS Art Book Fair the reading performance of their book 'El cuerpo que no está' (The body that is not here), followed by a publisher's talk.
