House of Paper
The past ten days, the FMC team prepared a small gift for the 7-year old pupils (170 in total) living in its legendary home town Kasterlee.
The resulting coloring book, House of Paper, consists of 13 – mostly brand new – drawings, generously provided by some of our former residents (Karin Ferrari, Ingrid Godon, Arpaïs Du Bois, Nico Dockx), our four studio coordinators (Ivan Durt, Nathan Gotlib, Emma Verhulst, Tom Dries) and some of the artists that will spice our artistic program the coming year (Emmanuelle Quertain, Peter Rogiers, Wim Cuyvers, Fabrice Samyn, Sven ‘t Jolle).
We’re incredibly grateful to all of them, and truly hope it can bring a few moments of relief, distraction and recreation to our young neighbors – and their parents.
Printed matter is key to our program, so we deliberately decided not to distribute the content of the book as a digital file through the internet – to which not everyone has access. Instead, we were happy to count on the community of Kasterlee to distribute all copies locally – and safely – one by one.
It is important to continue to support each other; the next few weeks won’t be easy.
We have a few spare copies, so if you have a first-grader at home – send us a PM with your address and an anecdote or drawing, and we’ll do the rest (whilst supply lasts).
