"In my artistic practice I often adapt new techniques and try to find a joyful way to use the techniques as a reflection of the media itself. During my residency at the Frans Masereel Centrum I wanted to experiment with old printing techniques in combination with modern techniques such as laser cutting. I got the opportunity to print on a reproduction of the oldest printing press still in existance.  Both the original machine and the reproduction I used are located at the Plantin Moretus Museum in Antwerp. The prints printed on this press show digital drawings of the press itself, which I then engraved on wood with the laser cutter. The prints are supplemented with a video that documents the whole process in the manner of informative Facebook videos. With this work I wanted to examine the revolutionary ways of spreading information that were introduced with the printing presses and now are changing again due to the internet with its digitality."
