Lieven Segers

'Everything is Macaroni' is the title of a series of silkscreen prints, consisting of unique pieces. They were developed during Lieven Segers’ two-month research residency in the Frans Masereel Centre in 2012, where he continued his work on his doctoral research on humour in the visual arts, and specifically on the border area between humour and tragedy. The idea behind continuing his doctoral research in the Frans Masereel Centre was the challenge of translating the previous three years of research into graphics. An experiment that includes a structural aspect: converting language into an abstract image fragment or form language without losing it in clichés of visual translations.
