Anja Gerecke

“Within my work I wish to further explore the relationship of color and space, particularly with regards to reflection and absence. During the process of printmaking I did this throughout embossing and monochrome color fields.”

Anja Gerecke works with site-specific painting and installation. She was a recipient of the DAAD grant in 2010 and participated in Berlin‘s Goldrausch Artist Program in 2012. She studied Fine Art at the Kunsthochschule Weißensee Berlin and lectured at their Kunsthalle 2012-14. In September 2013 she was a visiting artist at the Hiroshima City University. In 2013-15 she was a recipient of the Dorothea Erxleben working grant for emerging female artists. Her work has already been exhibited nationally and internationally.
